Teaching Opportunity for Performing Artists

Are you a performing artist with a passion for working with young children? Do you know a talented artist with teaching potential? 
Applications now being accepted for San Antonio Teaching Artist Positions.

A wonderful new opportunity has opened in San Antonio for performing artists to train as teaching artists in the Wolf Trap method and conduct teaching residencies in local pre-K programs.

This opportunity is made possible through theArtsFund sponsor of San Antonio Wolf Trap, a national affiliate of Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts, a Virginia-based organization dedicated to integrating the arts into early childhood education.
San Antonio Wolf Trap model uses art to teach science and math concepts, build confidence and cultivate imagination in young children.
San Antonio Wolf Trap teaching artists are placed in 16-session classroom residencies, which are held twice a week during the school day. Artists are required to attend a full week of paid training and complete two residencies within the first year.

Applicants must have at least three years of experience as a professional performing or teaching artist in the disciplines of music, dance, or drama including puppetry and storytelling, as well as experience working with young children.
