Ghosts

November 7 – November 23, 2014

Written by Henrik Ibsen

Directed by Omar Leos

On an isolated estate, Mrs. Alving, a wealthy, spirited woman, has tried to protect her family and herself from the philandering of her deceased husband.  Her son’s return to the family home unearths buried family secrets and unleashes powerful forces of destiny. Ghosts is a riveting, haunting tale of a woman caught in the binds of a highly moralistic society.

"Chauvin delivers a well-calibrated performance. There are some sweet moments in which he revels in his growing affection for his mother’s maid, Regine (the marvelous Julya Jara). And then there are rougher moments, in which he speaks about his breakdown and his recent diagnosis of 'soft brain.' George Burnette rounds out the cast, delivering a strong performance as the fellow who raised Regine."
